ADVERTISING REQUIREMENTS & CODE INSPECTIONS
Advertising Requirements
Also, the STR Department is now checking to make sure all new host license numbers are included on all advertisements.
If the short-term rental host license is not included on all advertisements, the short-term rental is in violation of the Gilmer County Ordinance. The violation fee, due upon finding the violation, is $250 for each occurrence.
Should a property be found to be advertising prior to the short-term rental host license approval, a fine will be levied against the account.
The penalty for doing business without a short-term rental host license is $900 fine as stated in the Ordinance, which is payable upon notice of the violation. A fee task workflow in this amount will be added to the property’s NEUMO account.
The host license will not be issued until all outstanding fines are paid in full.
Code Inspections
At the current time we are not requiring inspection with new host license applications.
