Gilmer County Planning & Zoning is aware of a scam currently circulating. Individuals listed on upcoming meeting calendars are being contacted through fraudulent email addresses made to appear as though they are official Gilmer County Government email addresses.
These emails are NOT from Gilmer County Planning & Zoning.
The fraudulent emails may contain invoices, attachments that can infect your computer with malware, and links requesting payment.
⚠️ DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS. DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT.
Please remember:
• Gilmer County Planning & Zoning will NEVER send you a link to make a payment.
• Payments to Planning & Zoning are always made in person.
• Payments are made before you are added to the meeting calendar.
• Planning & Zoning will never request additional money from anyone on the meeting calendar.
If you receive an email claiming to be from Gilmer County Planning & Zoning requesting payment, do not respond, click any links, or open any attachments.
